Houston Symphony
Gustav Holst's score "The Planets" is arguably one of the best-loved classical pieces by a British composer, and one which continues to enjoy considerable exposure today, performed as a live concert, but also within a plethora of well-known films and television productions. In celebration of both music and images, the Houston Symphony has commissioned a high definition visual presentation to accompany the live performance of "The Planets". Produced by celebrated filmmaker Duncan Copp, "The Planets - An HD Odyssey" beautifully marries the latest images returned from planetary spacecraft and full CGI animation by Bandito vfx.
"I think Steve Gomez and the team at Bandito, the company responsible for the graphic sequences in the film, did an outstanding job re-creating Saturn, which they based on high resolution data from the Cassini spacecraft in orbit around the ringed world around the ringed world. The attention to detail with the Saturn graphic during the middle of the movement is wonderful"
